1 March - Post-Meeting Summary

DIMA members were pleased to host the Australian Diagnostic Imaging Association(ADIA) President, Dr. Julian Adler, and CEO, Mr. Chris Kane at the first quarterly meeting for 2022. We were fortunate to host this meeting face to face over dinner at Kingsley’s Woolloomooloo after several years of virtual meetings. DIMA and ADIA members share many common challenges in the pursuit “to ensure radiology remains accessible, affordable and safe for all Australians.” DIMA members heard of the challenges being faced in Australia with qualified Radiologist staffing numbers, patient reimbursement payment models which impact accessibility and the work currently being undertaken to address billing discrepancy investigations. Together, we also discussed opportunities to collaborate on the implications of the long lead times for some capital equipment deliveries as a result of the global componentry shortages.
